A George II Giltwood Armchair
England, circa 1755

A very fine and rare George II giltwood armchair of generous proportions. The upholstered back and seat with curved armrests carved with flowers and scrolling acanthus, the chair raised on cabriole legs further carved with acanthus, the front legs terminating in ball and claw feet.

It is very rare to find a chair of this form with a gilded finish.
