A SATINWOOD CABINET ON STAND
The cabinet probably Sri Lankan or Batavian, circa 1700
The stand English, circa 1740

A magnificent and rare satinwood cabinet, the two doors crossbanded top and bottom with decorative pierced brass hinges and carrying handles to the sides, the interior finely fitted with an arrangement of ten ebony moulded drawers faced in satinwood and will gilt brass handles. The whole mounted on a finely carved mahogany stand with gadrooned detailing and a Greek key frieze, standing on lappet carved cabriole legs terminating in pad feet.
