A MAGNIFICENT PAIR OF GEORGE IV GILTWOOD CONSOLE TABLES
English, circa 1820

The table have rectangular verde antico marble tops resting on a wide frieze of carved oak leaves entwined with ribbons and gadrooned lower borders, supported by an eagle with outstretched wings standing on a rocky base, the side brackets carved with foliage, swags and scrolls; the whole standing on a shaped, green marbelised plinth applied with gilt egg and dart border.

Depth of top: 24 ½ in (61.5 cm)
Depth of base: 30 in (76.2 cm)
Height: 37 ½ in (95.3 cm)

A very similar pair of tables were sold at Parke Bernet in 1946
