LAPADA Art & Antiques Fair Best Furniture Award

The 2017 LAPADA Art & Antiques Fair is now open! We were thrilled to receive the Best Furniture Award for our George I giltwood secretaire cabinet. For your complimentary ticket to the fair, please contact us here (here should be a link to my email). The judges selected this piece because, 'With exquisite gilding and “magical” lion paw feet, the judges felt that this George I giltwood secretaire cabinet was a remarkable example “Best of British” design and furniture making. Made for the Portuguese Royal Court during the reign of King Dom João V (1709–1750), the cabinet’s near flawless condition won over the judges in what proved to be a competitive category.'

We are excited to announce our forthcoming exhibition, which will be held this summer at our St. James's Gallery. The exhibition, entitled Gilded: Golden Treasures of Georgian Furniture, will run from June 22 to July 5 2017.

The exhibition will explore the lavish use of gilded decoration on furniture throughout the Georgian age, and we have curated a selection of exquisite 18th century English furniture that highlights the prominence of gilding during this historic era.

We are delighted to announce that we are participating in the 2017 Mayfair Art Weekend in partnership with the Royal Academy of Arts.
