For me, the most pleasing interiors are those that harmoniously mix the old and the new; where the abstract painting hangs over a finely carved rococo side table, where the 20th century bronze sits next to a Renaissance painting; imagine the strength of early Tudor portraits in a minimalist apartment, allowing the vibrancy of the costumes to be magnificently highlighted against the stark white walls upon which they are hung. In our increasingly modern interiors, each piece then becomes a fascinating talking point in its own right. Each piece stands out for the treasure it really is – like a piece of sculpture.
