Giles Grendey: A George II Walnut Side Chair

ENGLAND, circa 1730

A very fine George II carved walnut side chair in the manner of Giles Grendey. The seat and back upholstered in very fine French 18th century needlepoint which is in excellent condition and still retains very strong colours. The chair standing on four very fine carved legs, of cabriole form to the front and outswept to the rear, each terminating in animal paw feet.

Beautifully carved detail and a lovely colour walnut.
