A PAIR OF CANTON 'GU' VASE LAMPS

china , circa 1880

A very fine pair of large scale Cantonese Gu vases, each beautifully painted with alternating panels of courtly scenes with figures in gardens and birds and butterflies amongst blossoms, with peony scroll borders on a gilt ground, now mounted as lamps with hand-gilded turned bases.

Height of each vase approximately: 15 1/4 in (39 cm) including the giltwood base, but excluding any electrical fitment and/or lampshade.

All of our lamps can be wired for use worldwide.
