A GEORGE II ROSEWOOD AND YEW WOOD BLANKET CHEST

A rare George II rosewood and burr yew wood coffer or blanket chest. The upper part with a hinged top, the top sides and front in rosewood crossbanded in burr yew, purple heart banding with boxwood and ebonised lines. The two drawers also crossbanded and inlaid and retaining their original handles, supported on a stand with square chamfered legs.

Of excellent colour. A striking and beautifully made piece of furniture.
