A wonderful pair of very large Delft vases and covers painted in traditional deep cobalt blue decoration on a white tin-glaze ground. Each jar has eight panels showing beautiful flowers flowing from rockwork. Large blue lappets decorate the shoulders and cover. The jars were made by Boch Frères Keramis in La Louvière, Belgium. The underside of each vase in marked BFK.

The jars were made by Boch Frères Keramis in La Louvière, Belgium, circa 1880. Belgium was part of the Netherlands until 1831, and many of the early workers at Boch Frères Keramis were hired away from Dutch Delft factories. Founded in 1844, Boch Frères Keramis won a gold medal at the exhibition of Belgian industry in 1847.
