A superb George I gilt gesso mirror, with a beautiful bevelled double arched plate. The cresting centred by a winged chrub with sunflower halo and flanked by three dimensional scrolls. The gilt gesso decoration with fine punchwork and carved scrolling foliage.

A very closely related mirror was descrived and illustrated in Connoisseur, March 1932, p. 184, part of the Warner collection, subsequently sold Sotheby's and advertised in The Burlington Magazine, October 1970, p. xvii
A set of three very closely related and of virtually identical size were formerly in the Percival Griffiths collection.
