A very fine and rare early 18th century Japanese Imari baluster vase, decorated in the typical Imari palette of tones of blues and iron reds with gilded highlights on a predominantly white background, the main panels with superb flowering plants and foliage, butterflies and phoenix birds, now mounted as a lamp with hand gilded turned base.

Height of vase: 13 3/4 in (35 cm) including giltwood base, excluding electrical fitment and lampshade.
