An outstanding and important George II period walnut wing chair of exceptional quality, standing on carved cabriole legs to the front and superb outswept cabriole legs to the rear similarly carved with scrolling acanthus to the knees and feet, the elaborately shaped serpentine rails with moulded border detail, the centre of the lower seat frame carved with a magnificent concave scrolled shell. The exaggerated wing chair upholstered in magnificent 18th century French bizarre-pattern needlework. The walnut of outstanding colour and patina, exhibiting the finest quality carving.
