A PAIR OF LACQUER LAMPS

A superb pair of large Japanese late 19th century Meiji period Arita porcelain vases with overlaid lacquer decoration, in tones of reds and blacks with gilt highlights, with oriental scenes, the flared necks with a frilled design. Now mounted as lamps with hand gilded turned bases. Image 3 shows the decoration on the reverse of one of the lamps.

Height of vases: 18 3/4 in (48 cm) including giltwood bases, excluding electrical fitments and lampshades.

All of our lamps can be wired for use worldwide, A selection of card, linen or silk lampshades can be supplied on request.
