A PAIR OF FAIENCE LAMPS

france , 19th century

A superb pair of large French faience vases, decorated in the Moustiers style, of compana form with bearded satyr heads, both sides of each vase painted with mythological scenes, one side with Apollo and a seated female figure, the other side with Narcissus admiring his reflection, within rococo scroll cartouches surrounded with floral garlands and flower-sprays. Now mounted as lamps with hand gilded turned bases.

Height of vases: 16 1/8  in (41 cm) including giltwood bases, excluding electrical fitments and lampshades.

All of our lamps can be wired for use worldwide. A selection of card, linen and silk lampshades can be supplied on request.
