A very fine Queen Anne period black japanned and gilt chinoiserie decorated chest of drawers. The top with moulded edge over two short drawers and three graduated long drawers, standing on turned bun feet. The top, sides and drawer fronts wonderfulyl decorated with chinoiserie scenes on a black japanned background. The decoration, in the manner of Stalker and Parker, includes warriors on horseback, garden scenes, pagodas, exotic birds and flowering trees all typical of japanned decoration of this period. Japanned throughout with particulary fine detailing.
