An exceptional early 18th century Japanese Arita porcelain baluster vase, painted in tones of iron-reds and blues on a white background with gilded highlights,  decorated with courtly figures and exotic birds amongst blossoming trees, flowers and foliage on a predominantly white background, now mounted as a table lamp with a bespoke hand gilded turned base.

Height of vase: 15 1/4 in ( 39 cm) including giltwood base, excluding electrical fitment and lampshade.
