A fine pair of George III neo-classical giltwood armchairs. The shield shaped backs surmounted by a ribbon motif and finials to the uprights, the armrests terminating in acanthus scrolls, the padded backs and seats upholstered. The serpentine front rail detailed with a carved laurel sprig, the front legs round, fluted and tapered and headed by carved paterae, the back legs elegantly outswept. With cramp cuts and baton holes to the undersides.
