A GLASS COLUMN LAMP

A superb late 19th century faceted glass table lamp, probably by  F. & C. Osler of Birmingham. Of large scale with wide circular base, impressively made from a single piece of glass. 

Height of lamp: 22 3/4 in (58 cm) excluding electrical fitment or lampshade.

All of lamps can be wired for use worldwide. A selection of card, linen or silk lampshades can be supplied on request.

The firm of F. & C. Osler of Birmingham, founded in 1807, were renowned for their manufacture of extremely fine quality glass lighting, especially chandeliers. Clients included Queen Victoria and their products were popular with the European aristocracy and particularly Indian royalty, so much so that by the mid 19th century they had outlets in India to satisfy the demands from the Maharajahs.
