A magnificent and very elegant late 19th century French ormolu mounted amaranth and bois citronnier bureau plat In the neoclassical taste of Louis XVI, the top inset with a black gilt tooled leather writing surface, the frieze with three ormolu-mounted drawers opposed by three matching dummy drawers, each end with a leather-lined slide, on tapering square legs mounted with ormolu foliate detailing and oak festoons and terminating in foliate feet. Stamped 'JME J.H.RIESENER'.
