A George I gilt gesso mirror, albeit of a much smaller scale, that exhibits a near identical carved top cresting rail, was in the collection of Percy Macquoid and subsequently Ralph Edwards. The mirror is illustrated in their seminal work The Dictionary of English Furniture (1st edition, vol. II, 1924, p.325, fig. 45 and Revised Edition, 1954, vol. III, p. 332, fig, 51) and more recently in Ronald Phillips, Great English Furniture, 2023, p. 160-163.
